REVIEW: QUAD LOCK SYSTEM - MOTORCYCLE MOUNT
Carrying your phone on your bike has been made easy. It’s actually been made easy for a while now! But having recently received our Quad Lock system - now we know for reals.
Carrying your phone on you while you ride can be a little annoying – especially if you need it for navigation or simply aren’t riding with pockets. To be fair, it’s not often that a dirt rider would need their phone out on the track when cutting motos. But Adventure riding and even trail riding and wanting to get some spectacular views on camera – I can see that happening for sure. Shit – I’ve done it myself. Plus, the bonus with the motorcycle mount is that it’s almost guaranteed to fit your MTB too – YUS!

The Dirt on the Quad Lock System
Love it - plain and simple. It works like it says it will and had never come off even during some tip overs. If you yard-sale down the track that would be a different story – obviously. Though the sturdy case will help protect the phone even if it breaks off the mount.
The system works in two parts. The phone specific case fits your smart phone perfectly (most Android and iPhone cases available) and has a female locking system in the back that is very unique. The mount is the second part of the puzzle and houses the male locking system with bright blue release lever. When the two are married up and at 45 degree angle and spun clockwise 90 degrees, the bond is near unbreakable from each other. And that’s how it works.
The extension arm allows the mount to be secured under a cross bar or beside the switch blocks, giving you the ability to locate your phone just about anywhere you need to. The design of the locking system means you can orientate your phone landscape or portrait in seconds without having to adjust the mount, which is handy.
Truth be told I have been using the Quad Lock on the MTB much more than the dirt bike as I get out on that more often during the week. The kits comes with different mount sleeves to fit standard and fat bars, as well as a few other sizes in between, including 22mm which is the diameter of your switch block/kill switch locations. It comes with the Allen key you need to install so it’s a complete all in one system.
I’ve always liked the look of the Quad Lock system but never pulled the trigger – I should have a long time ago. This is the most used product I have here at The Dirt due to its versatility both on the motorcycle and MTB, and the fact it does what it says it will.
