Can you believe March is only 3 months away! Boy that went quick. But what’s coming up even quicker is Christmas. So if like me, you leave things till the last minute, here are some saviours ready to rumble from the team at Bits4Bikes.co.nz and Whites Power Sports.
Leatt 9.5 Carbon Helmet
Price: $849.00
Your noggin is no joke - believe you me. If you don’t know already, you should spend as much money as you can afford on a helmet. And if you want to go all out, take a look at Leatt’s top of the line carbon Fibre helmet - the 9.5. The safety features are up there with the best of them, and from what I’m reading about the 360 Turbine Technology, I’m pretty happy this helmet will give me a really good chance in a crash. Obviously, the 9.5 is DOT+ECE approved and weighs in at 1195g. But maybe the best aspect is that you score a free set of Velocity 6.5 goggles. That’s pretty bloody good! Two Chrissy gifts in one. #winning
Leatt 6.5 Velocity Goggles
Price: From $159.00 (with some on special right now for $111.00!)
The 6.5 Velocity comes in three models. Standard, Iriz and Roll-Off. By the looks of it, the Iriz is the mirror lens model and is slightly a higher price point. And the Roll-Off versions are up again in price. The base model comes with a couple of different lens colours and a decent amount of design options so don’t think you are missing out on much if you start small. A dual-density frame, wide 170-degree field of view, triple-layer foam and a whole bunch of other features, the 6.5 is a big hit in the dirt world. The use of outriggers improves the goggle’s ability to fit inside the eye-port of just about any helmet. The extra arms allow the frame to go deeper into the helmet and seal around the face for a better fit. Leatt have opted to go with a double lens setup as their anti-fog system to starve off the frosting on the inside of the lens. The strap is a pretty healthy size at 50mm wide and connects to the outriggers on the frame. A quick-release lens changing system also makes these a great stocking stuffer. And with plenty of colour options, you can match that gear you getting for Chrissy too!

Fly, Leatt & Gaerne Socks
Price: From $29.00
Socks…the unsung hero that’s often overlooked. When you think socks, you think of grandma who bought you white tube socks in the 80’s cause that was the thing to do. Before you even unwrapped it you could feel it was either going to be socks or underwear and excitement was at an all-time low. Now if gran knew that these socks were actually cool gifts, those family Christmas get-togethers could have been a lot cooler.
Socks are a very cheap option to fill stockings all day every year - and they are that present that lasts too! You have options too - from regular length to knee length to all the way up the thigh to assist with knee brace wearing. Don’t forget about your feet this year, or your wives, feet, or your friend’s feet. So if you’re at a loss on what to get, then socks it is.
