VINDURO AT THE FARM THIS WEEKEND

Don’t forget about the fantastic event, Vintage North - the opening round of the New Zealand Vinduro Series, held at the always-fun and always-friendly motorcycling mecca of Whangaruru, The Farm, on Sunday November 17.

Run by the man himself, Mike Bennett and his merry WWOOF’ers, this first round of Vinduro is sure to slap a smile all over that 1970’s face.

Expect a varied course with big grassy paddocks, rolling hills with bush and clay tracks. And just so everyone gets just the right balance of challenge and satisfaction, there are two grades of track difficulty. Gold for the really keen and Silver for the more laid-back.

Here is what Mike has to say about the event:

“As well as having all the riding a Vintage Enduro enthusiast could want, The Farm has basic accommodation huts and endless amounts of free camping for tents, motorhomes and caravans, with hot showers available too. Plenty of gathering places to socialise, pre-and-post ride hydration facilities and hearty meals will also be available if pre-ordered.”

Vinduro Instigator, John Nick gives the camera wave at the Maramarua Classic Vinduro.

Six categories of Vintage Enduro machines will be catered for at Vinduro North from the truly vintage 4-speed class, right through to the Pre-1996 dual disc braked ‘Modern’ class. If you’re interested in Vinduro but do not have a qualifying bike, you can trail ride your late model machine around the course instead.

Coming to the end of a special test at the 2019 Maramarua Classic Vinduro.
