2020 YAMAHA YZ250F MAPS
If you don’t already know, for 2020 Yamaha changed nearly nothing in this years YZ250F model. They did do a minor mod to the air filter to make it seal better but that’s it. But 2019 was a huge year for the lites bike so that’s no surprise. So even though this post says 2020, you can still use all these maps on the 2019 with the same result. And with Yamaha’s revolutionary Bluetooth engine mapping technology at the touch of your smart phone, it has never been easier to adjust your engine mapping to reflect track conditions.
Check these out.
You might recognise most of these maps from the 2019 Yamaha Maps post at the beginning of the year. Well they all still apply to both the 19 & 20 model years so get about it.
However there is one new map for 2020 that we want to share with you that is said to give the bike a more free revving feeling, if that is what you are looking for. Developed again by Kris Keefer in the states (www.keeferinctesting.com), this map should give you less engine braking and a freer revving engine at a higher RPM. We haven’t tried it ourselves so any feedback from you is welcome. And have fun.
KEEFER FREE REVVING MAP
A map that allowed the bike to rev freer and create a higher RPM Power. Also decreases engine braking but might lose a little bottom end torque.
HARD PACK ENGINE MAP
A map that will perform well on hard pack tracks and give good drive on the hard and sometimes slippery conditions.
LOAMY ENGINE MAP
For when you want some hard hitting power on track where its like ‘Loamsville’ and give a good amount of grip.
SLIPPERY ENGINE MAP
For tracks that are slippery and muddy. This map will give a nice smooth delivery to help combat wheel spin and slick conditions. Think Taranaki Moto 2 for the 250 class.
